An entrepreneur and conference speaker for more than 30 years, I'm author or coauthor of a number of books on sales & marketing, and influence & persuasion, including, "The Go-Giver" and Go-Giver book series coauthored with John David Mann, and "Endless Referrals".
Basically a loner who is fortunate enough to come from a great family. LOVE all animals, and even a few people. 🙂
Q: Where were you born, where were you raised, and where do you currently live (City, State/Province, Country)?
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, raised in Natick, Massachusetts, and have lived in Jupiter, Florida for 35 years. And LOVE it!
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes or lines in a song or movie and why does it resonate with you?
From the movie, "Blazing Saddles" where Governor Le Petomane says, "We've gotta' protect our phoney baloney jobs, gentleman." I've never heard a more honest line spoken by a politician.
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
As a student of sales and communication skills, the opportunity to make a passion my profession led me to this career. And it's been a joy and an honor to be able to do this for so long.
Q: What do you enjoy most about what you do?
A combination of loving the topic itself and feeling that I'm bringing value to those I serve.
Q: What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Two major things: 1} Shut up, stop talking, and start listening, because you don't know half of what you think you know. 2} Learn all you can about human nature, even the unpleasant parts that you cannot relate to, because this understanding will serve you — and those you serve — for the rest of your life.
Q: What is one of your favorite places to be or travel to?
My favorite place is right here. I travel only for business.
Q: If you could choose anyone (past or present, fictional or real) with whom to have lunch, who would it be and why?
Booker T. Washington. His wisdom and understanding astound me and I'd love to ask him all sorts of questions.
Q: Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
My Parents
Q: How did you first discover “The Go-Giver”?
My coauthor, John David Mann, and I discussed the idea and thanks to his brilliant writing we were able to put it into a story.
Q: Who would you like to see featured on The Faces Of The Go-Giver Community and why?
So many people I'd love to see featured.
Q: Finally, how can we know if someone we come in contact with is a good connection or prospective customer/client for you?
A company leader who is responsible for bringing in speakers for their conferences.
