I am a graduate of Drew University and Logan College of Chiropractic. In 1997, I was awarded a Fellowship of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. During that Fellowship training, I became Certified in the Webster Pregnancy Technique and was trained in Cranio-therapy for the pediatric patient population. For a number of years, I was one of only a handful of Doctors of Chiropractic in Southern New Jersey, to hold an Advanced Proficiency Rating in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique.

In 2004, I was inspired to share my father’s story, and advance the principles of Life Span Family Wellness. My book, You Are Not Your Diagnosis… and Other Lessons I learned from my Father, was published, and it allowed me to travel around the country where I led more than 750 “corporate wellness” workshops, speaking to audiences as intimate as 10 and as large as 1000.

As a member of the Maple Shade, NJ Rotary Club, I am honored to be a 2-time Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International. For my whole career, I've been a member of the Camden County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the International Chiropractors Association, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and the Association of NJ Chiropractors.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about yourself. Feel welcome to include your family and pets too.
I live in Cherry Hill, NJ with my wife, Jennifer and our sons, Jake and Noah. I believe in my heart, that there "ain't nothin' like a bulldog," and I will always cherish the 9 years that Roxanne was with our family.

Q: Where were you born, where were you raised, and where do you currently live (City, State/Province, Country)?
I was born in Cherry Hill, NJ, a suburb of Philadelphia. We did spent four great years in St. Louis when I was in graduate school, but I now live and practice in my hometown.

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes or lines in a song or movie and why does it resonate with you?
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds; your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” — Patanjali

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
I had a wonderful high school biology teacher. He was able to answer the question that every student asks: "What does THIS have to do with the rest of my life?" He was very complementary of all the different health professions, including Chiropractic. He knew that if he could create just a little spark in his students, it could be something that could carry them far beyond the walls of his classroom. No one in my family had ever been to a Chiropractor, but just the idea of being able relieve someone's suffering, and in fact, improve their overall health, without the use of medications, with all of their inherent negative effects… now that would really be something! Being a Chiropractor is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do, and I haven’t gone to work, even one day in the last 3 decades.

In, 2008, after decades of struggling with my own personal weight issues, a caring patient took the time to introduce me to the OPTAVIA – Habits of Health Transformational System. I followed the advice and coaching of its creator, Dr. Wayne Andersen, and lost over 30 pounds in 10 weeks, and for the first time in my life, I have been able to keep it off. I quickly realized that my patients, and the patients of every doctor, deserved the same opportunity. Now serving as a Certified Coach with OPTAVIA, I have been able to coach my patients and other Health Professionals as they have lost 1000s of pounds and finally realized the promise of Lifelong Transformation, One Healthy Habit at a Time.

Q: What do you enjoy most about what you do?
There is nothing like coaching, supporting, and witnessing someone else become the hero of their own story.

Q: What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Figure out a way to make exercise a DAILY habit. Figure out a way to make meditation a DAILY habit.

Q: What is one of your favorite places to be or travel to?
I really love the West Coast of Florida. There is nothing quite like a sunset over the Gulf. Except perhaps, facing the other way, and catching a sunrise over the bay.

Q: If you could choose anyone (past or present, fictional or real) with whom to have lunch, who would it be and why?
This one is easy. Ever see The Princess Bride? What was Inigo Montoya's response to the 6-fingered man, who was offering him 'Anything You Want?' I want to have lunch with my Dad.

Q: Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
My family. My family is my favorite topic. Ask me how I am doing? I will tell you about them. Ask me what's new? I will tell you more about them.

Q: How did you first discover “The Go-Giver”?
Two great go-givers and connectors in South Jersey, David Bookbinder and Bill Borton. They gave me the book as a gift.

Q: Who would you like to see featured on The Faces Of The Go-Giver Community and why?
All of the members of The Go-Givers Success Alliance are at the top of their games. Any of them would be a worthy addition.

Q: Finally, how can we know if someone we come in contact with is a good connection or prospective customer/client for you?
I'd be honored to meet with anyone who is looking to improve their health in any, and all aspects of their lives. Because over 70% of the people we know and love are faced with over weight/obesity challenges, nutrition and weight loss is where the conversation begins for most people. Conditions like, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome and diabetes are often connected with life-style habits and can be aided by learning about our program. Without question, mental and emotional stresses are on the increase coming out of the pandemic, and the Habits of Health Transformational System addresses them in an empowering and simple-to-implement series of tools and skills.
