I am a believer in Jesus, a wife, a mom, and a nana to four little ones with another one on the way (expected the end of March!). Writing is my passion and sharing about others, highlighting them, is one of my favorite kinds of writing. I also love to scrapbook, read, and go for walks.
I was born in Albert Lea, Minnesota and raised in Bettendorf, Iowa. I now live in a tiny town (population: 2600) in southeast Iowa called Bloomfield. All are in the United States.
Q: What is one of your favorite quotes or lines in a song or movie and why does it resonate with you?
One of my favorite songs is “Chosen” by Sidewalk Prophets because of the powerful message it shares: no one is worthless — all are chosen and loved! “You sat on the side, and you tried to hide it / (In silence and quiet) / But deep in your heart, there's a burning fire / Whoever told you that you're not strong / Today's the day you're gonna prove them wrong / It's in your victory song / You're not worthless, you're precious / You're not left out, you're wanted / You're not invisible with your shining soul / Love has spoken, you are chosen!”
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your business?
I help people organize their thoughts and words to create written content that makes an impact and builds connections on LinkedIn. I turn conversations into content that is impactful, original, and authentic, using the person’s words and voice.
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
Ever since I was a little girl and my second grade teacher introduced me to storytelling, I have wanted to be a writer. A few years ago, I quit my job as a writer for a small manufacturing company and started my own copywriting/writing business. I am grateful for my husband’s support as I am creating this dream-come-true business.
Q: What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love helping people shine through writing! I love seeing their eyes light up as they share their story with me. It’s a joy and privilege to help people share their message and see the transformation when they do.
Q: What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Love and serve God, love and serve people – no matter what others around me are doing. Have God, family, and friends be first in life — everything else will fall into place.
Q: What is one of your favorite places to be or travel to?
I really liked visiting Hawaii and Germany. I hope someday to return to both places.
Q: If you could choose anyone (past or present, fictional or real) with whom to have lunch, who would it be and why?
I would choose to have lunch with my mom and dad (both now in heaven), so I could give them one last hug and tell them I love them…..
Q: Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
My family and friends.
Q: How did you first discover “The Go-Giver”?
Yermi Kurkus introduced me to Kathy – and I’m so grateful he did! Being a part of the Go-Giver Community has been amazing!
Q: Who would you like to see featured on The Faces Of The Go-Giver Community and why?
Yermi Kurkus because he is incredible! The way he helps others is outstanding!
Q: Finally, how can we know if someone we come in contact with is a good connection or prospective customer/client for you?
Good connection – people who want to make an impact and make a “heart” difference. / Prospective client – people who want help with content creation for their LinkedIn page (personal and company).
